We've compiled a list of important and frequently asked questions, and we thought it would be nice to also provide an answer to each question. Let us know if you have any questions that are not answered below and we will help you out.

Where are we staying and what's the address? You will be staying in Village Praia do Rosa from Monday the 6th of March at 15:00 until Friday the 10th of March at 12:00. This is a small holiday park located at a beach called Praia do Rosa. It's located about 100km from the airport in Florianópolis, which is roughly a 1,5 hour drive. Please note that this holiday park is not located in Florianópolis.

The nearest supermarket and pharmacy are about 15 minutes by foot and 5 minutes by car.

The exact address can be found on Google Maps:

How do I get there? Do I need a car?To get to the holiday park, you will probably fly to the nearest airport which is located in Florianópolis (FLN). From there you need to drive to the holiday park by car, there isn't any other practical way to get there.

You can get there by taxi, Brazil has Ubers and your Uber account will work in Brazil as well. Just make sure you have a working credit card connected to your Uber account before you leave. We've checked the price for an Uber from the airport to the holiday park a couple of times and we've seen prices as low as 35 euro and as high as 70 euro. The price will of course depend on the day and time you take an Uber.

We can also advise renting a car for the duration or your stay as renting a car in this part of Brazil is quite affordable. We've seen prices for renting a car for 5 days for as low as 100 euro (excluding insurance, etc.). You could share a car with other guests to split the costs. Having your own car will give you a bit more flexibility and mobility, and it will also enable you to leave the holiday park more easily to get some groceries for in your house, go out for lunch or visit places outside the holiday park.

We'd like to ask all our guests to try to arrange transportation amongst themselves as that saves us quite some time and effort.

When can I arrive and when do I need to leave? You can arrive in the holiday park on Monday at 15:00, it's possible to arrive earlier on this day, drop your luggage and have a dive in the ocean. Just say you're coming for our wedding. You need to leave on Friday at 12:00.

What's included in the stay?Quite a lot:

  • breakfast on all days
  • diner on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • usage of the pool and spa areas (make sure to ask about the spa when you checkin)
  • usage of the beach and the services at the beach (you'll need to pay for food and drinks there yourself)

You'll need to arrange dinner on Monday and lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday yourself. The holiday park has a nice restaurant and there are a couple of nice restaurants in walking distance from the holiday park. Some even at the beach! You can also cook yourself as all houses are equipped with a full kitchen.

How about internet? Is there Wi-Fi in the park?Yes, the whole park should have good Wi-Fi coverage. Please ask for the Wi-Fi login and password at the reception.

You'll also want to have mobile internet for things like using Uber or driving instructions. Your mobile provider might offer a travel bundle for outside the EU. You can also buy a prepaid SIM card at the airport or, even easier, if you a recent smartphone you can buy an eSIM online: https://esim.holafly.com/esim-brazil/.

When do I need to pay my contribution?Upon checkin you'll be asked to pay your contribution of 250 euro which you can pay by credit card.

Is there a dress code?Yes! The dress code is "Beach Semi Formal". If like us, you don't really know what that means, a quick Google search will help you out. We also created a Pinterest board with some examples for everybody. Next to the dress code there is a color palette for your outfit as well:

The dress code is only for the wedding day on Wednesday. But feel free to use the color palette on different days as well. It will make us smile.

How about gifts? Please see this page about gifts.

What's the weather like? It's going to be warm, but not hot. Somewhere between 22 degrees during the night to 28 degrees during the day. It can rain, but not much. The sun rises way before you do, and it sets between 18:15 and 18:45. If you want to know more or are a bit nerdy when it comes to weather, this website will make you happy: weatherspark.com.

What should I wear? Is there a packing list?Shorts, skirts, t-shirts, flip flops, bikinis, sunglasses, the works. Make sure to bring something a bit warm for in the evening, and something for a bit of rain. We only have a dresscode on the wedding day (you can find it on this page), all other days you can wear what you want.

Besides some clothes, it's also smart to bring things like sunscreen, insect repellent, and all other usual stuff you bring to tropical destinations. Brazil has the same kind of electrical outlets as in Europe, so no need for power adapters. For more tips just seach for "Brazil packing list".

What kind of food will there be?All food served on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be vegetarian. Sorry dad. If you have any allergies or anything else we should know about, please let us know.

Do I need to learn Portuguese? Most people in Brazil don't or hardly speak English, so knowing a couple of words and sentences can be very useful. Or download Google Translate on your phone and download the languages you need for offline usage. Our wedding planner and other staff members can speak a bit of English to help you out at the holiday park.

Will there be someone for hair and makeup?Yes! There will be a beauty salon crew available at the holiday park on the day of the wedding. Please let us know if you are interested. Near the wedding date we'll put you in contact with someone who can tell you the prices and arrange a timeslot for you. Please note that you'll have to pay for this service yourself.

Can I bring my kids?Yes you can, but with a small note. The holiday park and the houses are well suited for children. There's a nice playground and a part of the outdoor swimming pool is shallow. We also heard children like to build sand castles on the beach. Your children are welcome to attend all events, but on the wedding day we ask you to not bring small children and babies to the moment of the wedding ceremony. This is going to be our moment and we want to prevent it from being disturbed in any way. We can arrange a baby sitter and nanny for the ceremony and the whole of the wedding day, and also other days. Please let us know if you would be interested.

I know enough!Great, because that's all we can tell you!
